Approaching the front we find the entire surface either side of the paved driveway is laid to decorative crushed gravel that not only looks neat and tidy but will remain maintenance free while you get on with the rest of your busy life, which has to be a bonus. At the rear of the gravel area is a well kept leylandii hedge separating this from the similarly gravelled side and rear gardens which are accessed through a wooden gate.

A continuation of the roof from the box style front bay window forms a shelter for the white UPVC from door with its attractive oval glass insert and which in turn allows us into the inner hall with its wood laminate flooring. On the right is a semi glazed set of double doors opening into the lounge.

At first this seems a bit odd but when I opened them both, the size of the resulting doorway suddenly looked like genius. Why would anyone struggle to get large items of furniture into a house when the answer is so simple? So if you really fancy that baby grand piano youve always promised yourself, nows your chance because with a lounge like this, theres even room for it. The box style bay window ensures there is always plenty of light, while a living flame effect electric fire provides the welcoming glow so important on winter evenings.

A door at the rear of the room opens into the kitchen/diner with its reprise of the wood laminate floor from the hallway. This entrance marks the dividing line between the two functions of the room, with the dining area and its large window to the left. Currently this side features a set of kitchen units with a work top above but the removal of these would result in a spacious dining room well able to take a full sized table and chairs without feeling cramped.

At the other end of the room is a modern kitchen laid out in a U shape with additional wall cupboards above the units and featuring a tall fridge/freezer, free standing electric cooker and a space with plumbing for an automatic washing machine. A further window lies beside the semi glazed back door, allowing the generous levels of so important when working in a kitchen. The back door opens into the rear garden, a small triangular area laid exclusively to paving slabs. These are always easy to maintain and, with various colourful potted plants scattered around, make a pleasant and sheltered spot to relax.

Moving upstairs and towards the front of the home we pass a linen cupboard which also houses the gas combi central heating boiler before coming to the smallest bedroom. As with so many three bedroom homes, this is by far the weakest spot, being strictly a single bedroom and a compact one at that. Or is it a weak spot? As children grow and the time comes for them to move on, allowing their ageing parents some well earned peace, there is a danger that if they are too comfortable that peace will never be allowed. However if, like a lobster outgrowing its shell they eventually find such a room too confining Well, its just a thought.

Adjacent to here and also overlooking the front of the home is the main bedroom, an altogether different kettle of fish. In here, an entire wall of fitted wardrobes make free standing storage furniture unnecessary, turning an already comfortably large room into a very large one. Good levels of light are ensured by the picture window overlooking the green opposite, making it a very pleasant spot to lay your weary head.

Moving towards the rear we come to the second bedroom. This is of a similar size to its predecessor but feels smaller, compromised by its lack of fitted wardrobes though as there is adequate space for free standing furniture this is not the issue it might seem.

Finally and also overlooking the rear of the home we come to the bathroom or, to be strictly accurate, shower room. This features wall tiles of contrasting brown and pale grey, yes I know it sounds ghastly but it honestly isnt, and contains a white suite of pedestal hand basin and lavatory, with a huge corner sited walk-in shower behind a glass screen. As someone who favours showers I approve of this arrangement, as all too often shower cubicles are cramped and this can make getting in and out awkward. The elderly also tend to struggle with an above the bath shower, as they can have problems stepping over the side of the bath while something like this would seem the ideal compromise.

On the right is a semi glazed set of double doors opening into the lounge.

At first this seems a bit odd but when I opened them both, the size of the resulting doorway suddenly looked like genius. Why would anyone struggle to get large items of furniture into a house when the answer is so simple? So if you really fancy that baby grand piano you’ve always promised yourself, now’s your chance because with a lounge like this, there’s even room for it. The box style bay window ensures there is always plenty of light, while a living flame effect electric fire provides the welcoming glow so important on winter evenings.

A door at the rear of the room opens into the kitchen/diner with its reprise of the wood laminate floor from the hallway. This entrance marks the dividing line between the two functions of the room, with the dining area and its large window to the left. Currently this side features a set of kitchen units with a work top above but the removal of these would result in a spacious dining room well able to take a full sized table and chairs without feeling cramped.

At the other end of the room is a modern kitchen laid out in a ‘U’ shape with additional wall cupboards above the units and featuring a tall fridge/freezer, free standing electric cooker and a space with plumbing for an automatic washing machine. A further window lies beside the semi glazed back door, allowing the generous levels of so important when working in a kitchen. The back door opens into the rear garden, a small triangular area laid exclusively to paving slabs. These are always easy to maintain and, with various colourful potted plants scattered around, make a pleasant and sheltered spot to relax.

Moving upstairs and towards the front of the home we pass a linen cupboard which also houses the gas combi central heating boiler before coming to the smallest bedroom. As with so many three bedroom homes, this is by far the weakest spot, being strictly a single bedroom and a compact one at that. Or is it a weak spot? As children grow and the time comes for them to move on, allowing their ageing parents some well earned peace, there is a danger that if they are too comfortable that peace will never be allowed. However if, like a lobster outgrowing its shell they eventually find such a room too confining… Well, it’s just a thought.

Adjacent to here and also overlooking the front of the home is the main bedroom, an altogether different kettle of fish. In here, an entire wall of fitted wardrobes make free standing storage furniture unnecessary, turning an already comfortably large room into a very large one. Good levels of light are ensured by the picture window overlooking the green opposite, making it a very pleasant spot to lay your weary head.

Moving towards the rear we come to the second bedroom. This is of a similar size to its predecessor but feels smaller, compromised by its lack of fitted wardrobes though as there is adequate space for free standing furniture this is not the issue it might seem.

Finally and also overlooking the rear of the home we come to the bathroom or, to be strictly accurate, shower room. This features wall tiles of contrasting brown and pale grey, yes I know it sounds ghastly but it honestly isn’t, and contains a white suite of pedestal hand basin and lavatory, with a huge corner sited walk-in shower behind a glass screen. As someone who favours showers I approve of this arrangement, as all too often shower cubicles are cramped and this can make getting in and out awkward. The elderly also tend to struggle with an ‘above the bath’ shower, as they can have problems stepping over the side of the bath while something like this would seem the ideal compromise.
